Kazaneta is Vazali's only sister, the middle of Emperor Xeres and Queen Vizada's three children.  Despite her lofty famliy origins, Kazaneta is a very down-to-earth person.  She prefers to keep a low profile and live a quiet life with her husband and baby.  She uses painting as an outlet for her creativity.

She has a long fuse and tries hard to keep peace in her family, which is often an impossible task.  When her temper is finally aroused she's not afraid to speak her mind, however.

Part of her laid-back attitude can be explained by her lack of imperial duties.  Xeebec grew up expecting to become Emperor, and Vazali was always prepared for the possibility of her own succession.  As neither the oldest child nor the only son, Kazaneta never expected to gain the throne, so she was free from that pressure.

Her relationship with Vazali has always been a good one, although the two grew apart somewhat after Kazaneta moved out of the capital to escape the limelight.  She tolerates Xeebec most of the time, but is frequently annoyed by him and the way he treats their older sister.
