and again in Chapter 34--even though he was killed several chapters earlier!
Interesting timeline and geographical details:
* It is stated that "more than four seasons" elapse between Mariel
of Redwall and The Bellmaker.
* Joseph and Mariel passed Southsward on their way to Terramort.
(Joseph recognizes the coastline from that earlier voyage.) This means their
homeland must be even farther south.
